Art portfoilo

This the front cover of my art portfolio, out of all my artwork this probably took the longest to complete. The materials I mainly used was color pencils and regular lid pencils. I want my portfolio to represent me in a way. My personally is very bright, lively and very much all over the place and I wanted to express that in my work. 

This the back of my art portfolio, for this section I used color pencils again but also water color. I wanted the water color to give somewhat of an ombre effect. I honestly like the back of my portfolio more then the front, especially the colorful explosion next to the last "a" in my name. The large figure is meant to be a combination of the sun and moon with my artistic twist.

This is my piece for National Hispanic Heritage Month. The painting was meant to represent Hispanic culture and appreciation. In drafting the idea of this painting, I researched historical Hispanic paintings and celebrations. Then, I tried to includes these things with my own style of painting. I used a lot of warm hues such as reds, oranges, yellows. I really liked how the painting came out. However, I could improve on the skin tones and the painting of the dog. Also, the wheat before the sunflower could how painted a bit better.

Skin tones

This is my practice of learning skin tones. I learned that skin tones are harder to make than I imagined. However, I also learned that skin tones are layers and layers of different hues and that some people of mixtures of hues ranging where on the skin that a person is looking at. For example, a person's neck can be darker than their face or have a more red undertone than their face. I'm still improving on skin tones but, understand it more than before.
